Cagayan State University - Aparri Campus conferred degrees and titles to the 982 graduates of Batch 2024 during the 46th Academic Convocation for the Conferment of Degrees and Titles , July 2, 2024 at the CSU - Aparri Gymplex.
Prof. Engr. Audy R. Quebral, DPA, the Campus Executive Officer, presented the candidates for graduation; 249 from the College of Information and Computing Sciences, 101 from the College of Teacher Education, 64 from the College of Industrial Technology, 30 from the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, 113 from the College of Criminal Justice Education, 239 from the College of Hospitality Management, 155 from the College of Business, Entrepreneurship and Accountancy, and 31 from the Graduate School.
Hon. Dionisio C. Ledres Jr., CESE, Regional Director of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office 2 and Member of the CSU's Board of Regents, graced the said graduation rites being the keynote speaker.
"Do things that you hate to do but do it like you love it. That's how you survive the difficulties that will come to you. [...] If you keep on learning, if you'll keep on believing in yourself, and you keep going in spite of the odds, everything will be fine," Dr. Ledres said.
Professor Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, ASEAN Engr., OIC University President charged the graduates, instilling to them the meaning of the university's motto.
"As you embark on your new endeavors, remember the university's motto, 'Ad astra per aspera,' - to the stars, through difficulties. This motto serves as a powerful reminder that challenges are not insurmountable obstacles, but rather stepping stones of the path to greatness," he said.
In sequence, OIC Pres. Ibañez granted awards to 27 Latin awardees followed by the awarding of the University’s Top 10 Outstanding Students and UniFAST Academic Excellence Award.
Moreover, Donica Lorenzo, the Campus Batch Valedictorian delivered her Address of Thanks in behalf of the Batch 2024 emphasizing the help and support she obtained from the institution, family, friends, and supporters.
"Our journey has been ours to carve, and today, our achievements are to be celebrated and shared with those whom we cherished the most. [...] What the future holds for now remains unclear, but remember that when God puts us to it, He will bring us through it," Lorenzo stated.
This year’s academic convocation bears the theme 'CSU: Inspiring Excellence in Achieving Success,' emphasizing CSU's Vision and Mission to produce globally competitive graduates through inspiring excellence in various fields.
